True to our Gundog Magic name, the dogs that we offer for sale are first and foremost, gundogs. They are bred to hunt…..the type and kind of dogs that we use ourselves in our own hunting activities. Our focus is on Walker Coonhounds, Beagles, German Shorthair Pointers and a variety of feists and curs that we train as squirrel dogs. We prefer not to sell puppies. Instead, our desire is to produce well-started young gundogs, born and raised here on the farm, that are each ready to become someone’s best hunting buddy. We don’t raise many litters. It takes time to produce gundogs that are superior hunting companions as well as great family pets. Our goal is quality, not quantity so we won’t always have dogs ready to sell.

Producing superior gundogs begins with good genetics. The dogs that we choose to breed are proven gundogs themselves from parents that are also proven gundogs. We strive to produce gundogs that are easy handling with friendly dispositions and a strong desire to please. Good conformation is a must along with intelligence, excellent noses and a relentless drive to search and produce game for the gun.

Using the training grounds here on our farm along with hundreds of acres in the surrounding area, training begins at an early age. The ongoing process includes early socialization of puppies, basic obedience training and then lots of fieldwork on the game the dogs were bred to hunt. The young dogs we sell aren’t perfect but they know their purpose in life and we’ll give you a very honest assessment of their strengths and weaknesses. Try them out here until you’re satisfied.
